From minimalism to playfulness - the world of Muuto lights
The Danish furniture and lighting manufacturer Muuto sees lighting not only as a functional necessity, but also as a central design element in the furnishing of rooms. Under the guiding principle of "muutos" - Finnish for "new perspective" - Muuto lights are created in collaboration with leading Scandinavian designers and are much more than simple light sources. Muuto's collaboration with young talents such as Tom Chung is also particularly fruitful. The Toronto-based designer developed the Beam table lamp, which impresses with its conceptual sophistication: Beam can shine in two directions and can be individually adjusted thanks to the dimming function and rotatable base.
Room by room: targeted lighting design with Muuto
The ideal lighting is created by the interplay of different light levels. Targeted light distribution plays a central role here: diffuse light creates atmospheric ambient lighting, while directional light has a specific function. In this way, different lighting zones can be created in the room in a targeted manner, creating atmosphere and mood as well as fulfilling functional requirements.
In the living room, for example, a pendant light such as the Muuto Fluid creates a soft mood, complemented by a Leaf floor lamp as a flexible island of light for the reading corners. Above the dining table, a dimmable pendant light such as the Two-Layer pendant light, or above large tables and boards, the Rime Rail pendant light, becomes a communicative centre Home office.
However, functional, direct light is also always in demand: the Ambit Rail or the focussed Tip table lamp ensure optimum visibility, reduce eye fatigue and support productive work.

Danish design meets innovative materials
Muuto lights not only impress with their functionality, but also with their design language and variety of materials. Muuto classics such as the minimalist E27 pendant light show how a universal design can be created from consistent reduction. At the same time, Muuto experiments with innovative materials: the Unfold pendant light made of soft silicone rubber sets clear accents, while the Grain pendant light with a material mix of bamboo fibres and polypropylene has a particularly homely appearance. The characteristic, sometimes subtle, sometimes bold colour palette of Muuto lights allows them to be individually adapted to any furnishing style.
At Muuto, each material is deliberately chosen to optimise the feel, visual depth and lighting effect. From hand-blown glass to warm wood and innovative polymers, the luminaires produce soft, glare-free light - characteristic of Scandinavian living spaces.
