Caravaggio Matt Pendant Lamp from Fritz Hansen

The Caravaggio Collection was designed in 2005 by the Copenhagen-based designer Cecilie Manz and is now part of the portfolio of the Danish manufacturer Fritz Hansen. Characteristic of the lamp family is the recognizable shape of the lampshade, which can be found both in the pendant and in the table lamps. In contrast to such soft lines is the rather technical-industrial-looking suspension device, which rounds off the lamps optically and ensures a balanced overall picture. The contemporary design of the Caravaggio lamp is complemented by a textile cable that supports its high-quality look. The Fritz Hansen lamps are available in numerous sizes and with either high gloss or matt lacquer. The Caravaggio design lighting ensure glare-free, downwards directed light, while a special feature is the Caravaggio Opal Pendant Lamp, which additionally emits a soft ambient light and thus creates a particularly warm room atmosphere. Born in 1972, Cecilie Manz studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and has been active for some 20 years in international product design.
