Jan Armgardt has a classical, solid education behind him, including an apprenticeship as a carpenter and a degree in interior architecture. Nevertheless the Bavarian furniture designer can be regarded as a bird of paradise. For Armgardt creates unique pieces and has been moving the borders of the visual arts for quite some time. Based in Schondorf, Germany, Jan Armgardt founded his own company for furniture production, has a sales office for upholstery furniture, holds lectures and exhibitions, conducts workshops and publishes his own publications. That Armgardt is also capable of realising functional designs for serial production is demonstrated by his designs for Müller Möbelfabrikation, including the futuristic LO12 side table.
