Huub Ubbens & Michele De Lucchi

The paths of designers Huub Ubbens and Michele de Lucchi crossed at the Italian manufacturer Artemide, for which you jointly developed the Castore Tavolo light fixture in 2003. Huub Ubbens was born in the Netherlands in 1964 and studied there until 1992, before moving to Milan where he worked with various designers. Finally, he joined Artemide, serving as head of the design department from 1997 to 2003. During this time, he also collaborated with Michele de Lucchi, a genuine legend of Italian design who first made his name as co-founder of the Memphis Design Group and whose collaborations with Artemide began in the late 1980s with the production of the now classic Tolomeo lamps.
