Viggo Boesen

As one of the designers of the "Golden Age" in Denmark, Viggo Boesen (1907-1985) had considerable influence on functionalism in the 1930s and 1940s: In this sense, he also introduced the popular houses type in the so-called "Funkis Style". The architect Boesen nonetheless placed great value on the visual aesthetics of his pieces of furniture, which at the same time should be ergonomic, hard-wearing and durable. Design classics by Viggo Boesen, which are currently not produced, are regular high earners on the international auction markets. His trademarks are rattan creations and upholstered seating with carefully selected fabrics that add lightness and charisma to his designs: for example Viggo Boesens armchair Little Petra in a cozy Scandinavian design, which is produced by the Danish manufacturer &Tradition.
