Design Story

Strammer Max by Max Frommeld for Nils Holger Moormann can be used as a side table or as a stool and once again proves the "flexibility" of the German manufacturer. Consisting of three multiplex panels and a central cross-connection bar, the Moormann object achieves its stability thanks to a taut rope. A taut rope which is held such through the service of a small ash rod - a little helper which can be switched for any other item of the correct dimensions, thus personalising your Strammer Max. The stool or side table Strammer Max is, as with all Moormann furniture, characterised by its clear lines, functionality, flexibility and intelligence. The Bavarian company was founded in 1982 by Nils Holger Moormann and places special emphasis on natural materials and local manufacturing.

new at smow: Strammer Max by Max Frommeld for Moormann

...And with Strammer Max, Max Frommeld has helped Moormann, once again, move the borders of what is acceptable in designer furniture... To assemble Strammer Max one simply slots the three outer plywood elements together, fit the crossbar and rope and then wind up the rope until the tension is sufficient to ensure stability...
