The Vitra bar stool Tabouret Haut by the French designer Jean Prouvé takes its inspiration from a very traditional, basic form: Four slightly slanted and downward tapering legs support a round seat which features a hole by way of a handle. The legs are supported by a steel tube which on the one hand serves as a static element and on the other as a footrest. Jean Prouvé's variant of the classic bar stool features the typical clean proportions, transparent design and very elegant tapered legs so familiar of his work.
