The Design

The fresh, young design of the Kristalia Elephant chair has already proved a remarkable success. Created in 2010 this new interpretation of the classic shell chair by the Munich based Neuland Industriedesign has been awarded the "The Best of Best Winners of the Interior Innovation Award 2012". An all-purpose chair featuring a plastic seat shell sitting on a steel frame and available in a range colours the seat shell of is formally reminiscent of the backbone of an elephant: this explains not only the name of the chair, but also the gentle organic momentum of the seat over the backrest and armrest. In addition to the Kristalia Elephant Tube smow also supply the Elephant Wood and Elephant Sledge and all chairs which - whether in the home or in public areas - also have the makings of a modern classics. This Elephant Sledge is, just as with the Elephant Tube, suitable for outdoor use

Designer

Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher met while studying in Munich and established Studio Neuland Industriedesign in the Bavarian capital in 1999. Their joint work reflects their belief that products reflect a philosophy of life. Consequently Neuland Industriedesign try to respond with new aesthetic formulations to changing values - less out of interest in new trends, but rather from a desire to create functional design for the current age. Whereas originally Neuland Industriedesign work on classic industrial design products, since 2005 the studio's focus has been furniture design and the pair have established an enviable portfolio with international partners such as Kristalia, Nils Holger Moormann, MDF Italia and Interlübke. For Kristalia in addition to the Elephant Chair Neuland Industriedesign have also developed the Sharky chair. For their work Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher have been awarded numerous prizes including the Compasso d'Oro.
