Design Story

The HAL Sledge by Jasper Morrison belongs to the Vitra HAL Collection, a family which features chairs for a wide range of everyday situations and locations. Characteristic of the HAL Sledge is the sled shaped base crafted from chrome plated steel tube and atop of which perches the seat shell made of batch-dyed polypropylene; a combination which results not only in a very aesthetically pleasing object but also a very high level of seating comfort. When designing the Vitra HAL chairs Jasper Morrison's focus was on designing a chair series which slotted simply and straightforwardly into everyday life; correspondingly the Vitra HAL Sledge is just as home in the living room or home office as it is in conference halls or meeting and conference rooms.
