After 80 years after the Rowac stool was first launched it is being revived. Although that said, it never really went away: even though production ceased in 1940 it is still regularly found in schools and workshops to this day. Which should come as no surprise, because the stool, which Walter Gropius used to equip the Bauhaus workshops, is based on a simple, well thought-out construction made of robust sheet steel and solid wood. "Practical. Indestructible. Honest." is the motto of the newly founded Rowac factory in the Ore Mountains, which has recently began production of this bastion among the classics - true to the original, sustainable and 100% regional.

| Manufacturing | The Rowac stool is a product that is connected to its homeland far beyond its name (Rowac stands for Robert Wagner Chemnitz). All components parts of the Rowac stool are produced within a 40 km radius of the Ore Mountains, just as it was 100 years ago. The PEFC-certified wood comes from Erzgebirge production and is processed on site by experienced wood turners. The sheet steel frame is also riveted, coated and assembled in the Ore Mountains. |
| Care | Rowac furniture is designed to last and does not require any special care. However a Rowac wood wax, available separately on request, can be applied regularly with a dry cloth by way of maintaining the seat. The wood wax is a mixture of local beeswax, linseed oil and essential oils. |
| Certificates & Sustainability | Sustainability is at the heart of Rowac's philosophy. Their products are produced locally to avoid CO2 emissions from transport. The wood comes from PEFC-certified cultivation, and for every tree felled, a new one is planted. Steel can be recycled as often as desired. The seat of the stool is attached to the steel frame with special screws so that the various raw materials can be separated and recycled with little effort. Spare parts (screws, seat etc.) are available on request. |
