Spoon Chair

Designed by Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen for Kartell the Spoon Chair is a relatively simple office chair, albeit one which on account of its brave design is positively avant-garde in character. The swivel chair is made via a special dual-component injection moulding technique in which a layered structure of two different thermoplastics is produced in one process step: the material used for the core is extremely durable, that for the exterior gives the Kartell Spoon Chair its characteristic aesthetics. In addition the material adapts to the user's weight, thus ensuring a high degree of flexibility and a unique seating comfort. The Spoon Chair office swivel chair by Kartell sits on a classic five wheel base and features an unobtrusive height adjustable mechanism. Thanks to the special manufacturing technology the Kartell swivel chair presents itself as a coherent and visually unified object; its curved organic form and the narrow tapering armrests give the office chair its pleasingly buoyant lightness.
