Design Story

The B 108 side table stands very much in the traditions of the German furniture company Thonet; a company whose story begins with the development of the Viennese coffee house chair, one of the first functioning industrial products in history. At that time, the technique of wood bending was particularly revolutionary and innovative, but Thonet didn't rest on their laurels. In the 1920s the company was one of the first to embrace the bent tubular steel of the period and produced products from leading protagonists such as Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer or Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in addition to their own collection developed by the in-house Thonet Design Team, who were also responsible for the B 108 side table. The highlight of the table is its narrow, elegant shape for which it finds almost boundless possibilities: whether as a discreet table in the living room or dining area, as a reduced storage solution in the bedroom or as a complement to the coat rack in the hallway, the Thonet B 108 is an ideal storage solution for all those little things that accumulate in every household everywhere everyday.
