Morten Gøttler

Morten Gøttler is a representative of traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship. Born in 1944, the Dane appreciates high-quality materials, minimalist aesthetics, and high comfort. All this is reflected in his designs, such as the Cuba Chair for the Danish furniture manufacturer Carl Hansen & Søn. Gøttler, who originally wanted to work in the shipping industry, came to the design branch through his love for materials. In 1972 he opened his own design studio, where he designed everything from packaging to toys and lighting, before finally setting focus on furniture design. His trademark is his work with wood and its processing to seemingly weightless, yet rugged, furniture objects.
