Wide product range - Cor furniture impresses with flexibility, comfort and elegance
Cor produces furniture for the commercial and private sector, meaning that in addition to living rooms and home-offices, public and commercial spaces such as lobbies, reception areas and offices can also be furnished with Cor furniture. The focus at Cor is on seating furniture, especially upholstered furniture: the product range includes a wide selection of sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, benches, chairs and various stools, all complemented by collections of Cor tables and side tables.
Furniture series for the living and commercial sector:
The Cor furniture series for the commercial sector include, for example, the Affair and Scope sofa families as well as the Level table and the Level table system, or the Floater table and sofa range and the Drop furniture range with side tables and seating which are highly versatile. The configurable Mell Lounge, Conseta and Trio sofas or the Pilotis side table range are suitable for the living area. Among the Cor bestsellers one finds the Cordia Lounge armchair, the Jalis upholstered furniture range and the Cor Moss sofa.
Configurable Cor sofas
Cor produces a range of sofas based on modular design concepts and which can therefore be individually adapted: from a comfortable two-seater to a spacious corner sofa landscape, there is a suitable Cor sofa. The configurable Mell Lounge sofa series impresses with its elegant design, high level of comfort and adaptability. Cor also focuses on versatility and modularity with the Conseta series, a sofa range that impresses with a classic, simple but by no means strict design. The Trio collection has a touch of extravagance with its clear lines, minimalist aesthetics and characteristic seams and can also be adapted to individual needs and spaces.
Cor designers for stylistic diversity
The Cor portfolio is also stylistically diverse: minimalist designs with a transparent, clear design language such as the Ipa table or the Nook side table reflect the aesthetics of contemporary room concepts and architecture; in contrast, designs such as the Siwa sofa with its organic, rounded shapes embody homely elegance. In addition, there are classically modern designs such as the Conseta sofa range, which are characterized by adaptability, clear proportions and a simple design language. Collaborations with a wide rister of designers from across generations ensure the stylistic variety and the wide range of possible uses of Cor furniture.
Jehs and Laub have authored numerous functional and clearly designed Cor furniture designs inclduing the Cordia armchair and the Mell and Jalis sofas, while Parisian designer Pauline Deltour adds a characteristic facet to the Cor portfolio with conceptual, sophisticated designs such as the Drop furniture series, the Floater sofa range and the Noto seating furniture, the later characterized by its bold and clever use of shapes and colours. The designer Gert Lange, in turn, contributed an expressive design classic with his 1965 Farmer outdoor armchair.
Cor. A brief History
Cor was founded in 1954 by Helmut Lübke together with the Prince of Bentheim-Tecklenburg and bears the Latin for heart for good reason: the three hearts in the coat of arms of the princely co-founder. Since the 1980s the Lübke family has run the company as sole owners and managing directors, with Leo Lübke currently in charge. As a family business Cor has been based since the 1950s in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in Nordrhein-Westfalen, a centre of furniture production in the region around Gütersloh, Herford and Bielefeld.
Cor currently employs around 220 people at its base, including upholsterers, cabinet makers and seamstresses. Cor furniture is 100 percent manufactured in the Cor factory in Rheda-Wiedenbrück: while some of the upholstery materials, particularly the leather, come from Italy and southern Germany all production and quality control takes place on site. Cor also undertakes all repairs and renovations of its furniture and offers the possibility of replacing covers should objects need refreshing after years of loyal use.
Sustainability at Cor
As a family business for over 70 years, Cor operates in the long term and is not oriented towards quarterly figures. As all furniture is manufactured in Germany it is also subject to strict environmental regulations and thus meets particularly high environmental standards. Thanks to the high-quality workmanship Cor furniture is particularly durable and can be passed down through generations - one of the most important prerequisites for sustainable furniture design.
The company operates its own mini power plant, which is powered by wood waste, and generates solar power on the roofs of the production halls. Tropical woods, heavy metals and hazardous fuels are not used. Cor takes back, reconditions or recycles used furniture so that no piece of furniture ends up in the trash.
An annual sustainability report, which can be viewed online, provides a comprehensive insight into the company's environmental and resource management. All upholstered furniture has been awarded Blaue Engel certification for particular environmental friendliness. In addition, Cor is Greenguard certified, which means that strict requirements are met with regard to volatile organic emissions in indoor spaces.
