The Cor range focuses specifically on seating furniture for living rooms and prestigious contract areas. This includes sofa models such as Trio, Mell Lounge, the Conseta sofa bed and Jalis, which impress with their timeless design, high quality workmanship and durability. The programme is complemented by armchairs such as Cordia and Shrimp and chair designs such as Alvo. The majority of these modern classics, including the entire Jalis family, the Cordia armchairs and the striking Shrimp armchair, were created by the designer duo Jehs + Laub one of Cor's specialities is furniture series in which sofas, armchairs and chairs are coordinated with one another as a complete design family. The Jalis upholstered furniture series, for example, stands for cosy elegance and modular variety, while Conseta sets functional priorities thanks to the sofa bed option

Configurable Cor sofas

Cor produces a range of sofas that are based on a modular design concept and can therefore be customised. From cosy two-seaters to expansive corner sofas, you'll find the right Cor sofa for you. The configurable Mell Lounge sofa series impresses with its elegant design, high level of comfort and adaptability. Cor also focuses on versatility and modularity with the Conseta series. The sofa programme impresses with its classic, simple but by no means austere design. An absolute design classic from the Conseta collection by Friedrich-Wilhelm Möller is the Conseta sofa bed. The Trio collection, which is based on a design by Team Form AG, has a touch of extravagance with its clear lines, minimalist aesthetics and characteristic stitching and can also be customised to individual requirements and ideas before purchase.

Cor designers for stylistic diversity

Collaborations with designers from different generations ensure stylistic diversity and a wide range of possible uses. The designer and interior architect Friedrich-Wilhelm Möller was already working for Cor in the early years. In 1964, he designed the Conseta sofa system, a Cor classic that still impresses today with its timeless elegance. The design studio team form ag contributed the Trio sofa the extensive Jalis series and the Mell collection were created by the designer duo Jehs + Laub, who have significantly shaped the modern identity of the brand. Designer Pauline Deltour has also enriched the range with designs such as the Drop series and the Floater programme. Her sensitive handling of shapes and the homely design of her objects emphasise Cor's claim to combine clear design principles with functional versatility.

The company Cor

Cor, founded in 1954 by Helmut Lübke together with the Prince of Bentheim-Tecklenburg, bears its Latin name equivalent "heart" for good reason. The three hearts in the coat of arms of the princely co-founder inspired the name. Since the 1980s, however, the Lübke family has managed the company alone as owners and managing directors, with Leo Lübke now at the helm. Cor has been run as a family business since the 1950s in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in North Rhine-Westphalia, a centre of furniture production in the region around Gütersloh, Herford and Bielefeld, where numerous upholsterers, cabinetmakers and seamstresses are based and where Cor currently employs 220 people. The furniture is 100 per cent manufactured at the Cor plant in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, although some of the upholstery fabrics, especially the leather, come from Italy and southern Germany. Nevertheless, all production and quality control is carried out locally. Cor also undertakes all repairs and renovations of its furniture and offers the option of replacing covers after years of use

How Cor ensures sustainability

As a family business that has existed since 1954, Cor operates on a long-term basis and is not orientated towards quarterly figures. As all furniture is manufactured in Germany, the furniture manufacturer is subject to strict environmental regulations and therefore fulfils particularly high environmental standards. Thanks to the high-quality workmanship, Cor furniture is particularly durable and can be passed down through generations - one of the most important prerequisites for sustainable furniture design. The company operates its own mini power plant, which is fuelled by wood waste, and generates solar power on the roofs of the production halls. Tropical woods, heavy metals and hazardous fuels are not used. Used furniture is taken back, refurbished or recycled by Cor so that no piece of furniture has to end up as waste. An annual sustainability report, which can be viewed on the website, provides a comprehensive insight into the company's environmental and resource management. All upholstered furniture is labelled with the Blue Angel for special environmental friendliness. In addition, Cor is Greenguard-certified, which means that strict requirements are met with regard to volatile organic emissions indoors.
