Carlotta de Bevilacqua

As an architect, designer, entrepreneur and professor, Carlotta de Bevilacqua is one of the most important figures in international lighting design. After completing her architecture studies at the Polytechnic in Milan in 1983, she opened her own design studio and realised numerous projects in the fields of architecture, interior design and lighting design. In the early 1990s, the designer created lights for the Italian manufacturers Danese and Artemide and was significantly involved in the development of new patented LED products. Carlotta de Bevilacqua has been the managing director of Danese since 1999 and thanks to her entrepreneurial expertise has brought a new shine to the brand. In addition, as the deputy managing director of Artemide, the architect is responsible for the creative development of the lighting manufacturer, and has developed in addition to lighting systems for contract use more playful Artemide products, including the sculptural table lamp Come Together. In addition Carlotta de Bevilacqua has been a professor at the design faculty of the Milan Polytechnic since 2001.
