Tecta and Bauhaus

Bauhaus F51 Gropius Armchair from Walter Gropius


The furniture manufacturer Tecta, which has been located in Lauenförde on the banks of the Weser for 40 years, is committed to the preservation and further development of important modernist designs, ideas and concepts. With a portfolio of furniture from the international avant-garde and around 30 re-editions of Bauhaus designs, Tecta is also the largest supplier of original Bauhaus models. The North German manufacturer produces significant Bauhaus classics such as the F51 armchair by Walter Gropius, a work which stood in his Director's office at the Bauhaus Weimar in Lauenförde, with official approval from the Bauhaus Archive Berlin. All Tecta furniture is produced in the company's own factory to the highest quality standards. However, Tecta is not just about preserving the spirit of Bauhaus and the furniture design of classic modernism, time and again, Tecta proves the relevance of the Bauhaus principles through reinterpretations and further developments, works which are developed in collaboration with contemporary designers. On the occasion of the 100th Bauhaus anniversary, Tecta has launched numerous exhibitions and events as well as a series of contemporary reinterpretations of iconic Bauhaus designs as part of the BauhausNowhaus concept. In addition, in the anniversary year 2019, an exclusive first edition of the L25 table lamp by Gerrit Rietveld was launched.
