Lizz

Piero Lissoni & Carlo Tamborini

After studying architecture in Milan, Piero Lissoni worked as a designer for Molteni and Lema. In 1986, together with Nicoletta Canesi, he founded his own studio, Lissoni Associati, before ten years later he opened a second studio named Graph.x. Active as an independent designer as well as serving as the art director for various companies, Lissoni is particularly well known for his designs for Kartell: including the robust multi-purpose chair Lizz, which was created in collaboration with the designer Carlo Tamborini. Tamborini studied at the European Institute of Design, Milan, from where he graduated in 1993. Since then he has worked as a freelance designer and cooperated with numerous architectural and design offices, including Lissoni Associati. Tamborini was also one of the co-founders of Codice 31 and has been designing for various companies since 1999. In addition to Lizz for Kartell, he also designed the popular suspension lamp Duplex for FontanaArte.
