Born in 1940 in Turin, Piero Gatti began collaborating in 1965 with with Franco Teodoro and Cesare Paolini, with a focus on architectural and design projects. Together they participated in various competitions, exhibitions, events, and festivals in Italy and abroad, establishing in the process a strong global reputation. One of their most popular creations is Sacco, which was the first ever beanbag. Since its creation in 1998/1999, it has been produced by the Italian manufacturer Zanotta, and belongs to the permanent collection of museums such as the MoMA New York. After Paolini's death in 1983, Piero Gatti and Franco Teodoro continued working together as a duo until Franco Teodoro's death in 2005.
