Margrethe Odgaard

Margrethe Odgaard graduated from the prestigious Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts 2013, following which she worked as a textile designer in Philadelphia and Paris, before finally starting her own studio in Copenhagen. Through her design work Margrethe Odgaard focuses on textiles, colours and patterns, work which caught the attention of an international audience and has already received numerous awards. When Odgaard thinks about colours, their connections and interpretations, the textile designer is always looking for innovative, fresh possibilities: her goal is to overcome boundaries, to give space to things and to stay open for exchange and communication. For the Danish manufacturer Muuto Margrethe Odgaard has created a range of textile designs - including, in addition to blankets and pillows, the Ply carpet, which unmistakably quotes traditional weaving techniques.
