Julie Richoz

The Swiss designer Julie Richoz studied at the University of Art and Design Lausanne, ECAL, and subsequently spent two years as an assistant to Pierre Charpin before establishing her own studio in Paris.

Richoz creates both individual pieces and designs for industrial series production, her portfolio featuring furniture, lighting and textile designs and roster of international clients including, amongst others, Louis Poulsen, Hay, Alessi, Louis Vuitton.

In 2024 Vitra launched Richoz's Vitra Colour Frame Mirror, a work inspired by building blocks and their almost endless possible combinations. Available in three sizes, the four sides of the Colour Frame Mirror are each decorated in different colours, and the frame is not only reminiscent of a combined picture frame and shelf space but can be used as a practical storage space for accessories.

Richoz has been teaching Industrial Design at ECAL since 2017, and has received numerous awards for her work, including the Swiss Design Award and the Grand Prix at Design Parade
