Sustainability in practice - excellent design thanks to environmental awareness
At Houe, sustainability is not an add-on, but an integral part of the entire product development and corporate philosophy. Under the guiding principle "Turning Trash into Treasure", Houe pursues the goal of creating responsible furniture by consistently taking ecological and social effects into account. A particular focus is on the use of recycled materials, such as recycled textiles or recycled plastic, which is transformed into durable design products. The Falk chair shows how consistently this approach is implemented: recycled household plastic is transformed into comfortable, durable seating furniture. For this well thought-out concept, the chair was awarded the EU Ecolabel, which assesses the entire product life cycle in terms of environmental compatibility, and was also honoured with the German Design Award 2020 and nominated as a finalist for the Danish Design Award in the same year. These awards underline Houe's claim to combine sustainable materials, innovative construction and contemporary design to create a responsible design approach.
