Christian Haas

Born in 1974, Christian Haas feels at home in many fields as an industrial designer: be that, for example, porcelain, glass, lighting, furniture or interiors. The German designer's career began with a lifestyle collection for Marco Polo and continued over the crystal manufacturer Nachtmann, for whom Haas designed 150 timelessly beautiful individual products in three years. In 2000 he started his own business with studios in Munich and Paris and from where he has created numerous objects and collections for well-known manufacturers such as Villeroy & Boch, Theresienthal and Tecta, works which combine craftsmanship with a sophisticated sense for table culture, proportions and finesse. Travel, the world and people are his inspiration. His style thrives on simple elegance, minimalism and a touch of extravagance. For Tecta, Christian Haas designed the bar cart K6: a flexible, stylish and universally applicable object. Christian Haas's work has received numerous awards, including the Red Dot Design Award and the Elle Decoration International Design Award. Today Christian Haas lives in Porto, Portugal, in a five-meter-tall house above his own restaurant - a versatile type of person whose projects are at least as exciting as the designer himself.
