Project Synopsis

smow Cologne supported Molls in their relocation to new premises. With a holistic approach from interior design advice to colour, material selection and tailor-made furniture they managed to create a contemporary and inspiring work environment that reflects Molls' innovative spirit and employee-friendliness.

The aim was to create a working environment that is not only functional and timeless, but also promotes the well-being of employees and creates a clear connection to the company identity. The result is an interior design concept that offers a careful balance between functionality and aesthetics with stimulating design elements and light-permeable work spaces.

Brief

Molls GmbH is a family business, based in Viersen, which has been successfully run for three generations and specialises in the preparation of legally compliant heating and operating cost statements as well as the measurement of heating and hot water consumption. The two owners attach great importance to identifying technical innovations at an early stage and offering them to their customers as sophisticated services. This openness to innovations was also to be reflected in the design of the new work environment: contemporary, future-oriented while simultaneously geared towards the well-being of the employees.

Due to the good order situation and the steady growth of the company, a move to new, larger premises became necessary. The challenge for smow Cologne was to develop an interior design concept that embodies Molls' innovative strength as well as the company's values. In addition to contemporary, functional workplaces, the owners were keen to create rooms that promote a pleasant and motivating working atmosphere, whereby the design of a cafeteria was particularly important, and was to be designed as a place to relax during breaks, but also as a multifunctional room for meetings and internal events.

Realisation

The planning team from smow Cologne accompanied the entire design process of the new offices. A concept was developed for the furniture and colour scheme that focuses on functionality and well-being with the aim of creating a friendly and inviting working environment that reflects the company's corporate identity. smow Cologne supported Molls in selecting high-quality materials and contemporary furniture that meets the requirements of durability and design.

Particular attention was paid to the cafeteria: it was designed as a multifunctional room that not only serves as a place to retreat during breaks, but can also be used for larger meetings and internal events. With well-thought-out furniture and a harmonious choice of colours and materials, an area was created that invites both exchange and relaxation.

Taking the spatial conditions into account, smow Cologne succeeded in creating a working environment that reflects the values and innovative strength of Molls. A key architectural element supporting this claim is the installation of floor-to-ceiling windows that run like a ribbon through all the office spaces and which ensure generous light flow and bequeath the interior an open, modern dynamic. The selection of floor coverings and the coordination of wall and door colours were also supported by smow Cologne, creating a harmonious and timeless overall image.

A further highlight in the best literal sense is the lighting design: the "Alphabet of Light" combines functionality with aesthetics and contributes both to the basic lighting and to the creation of a visually appealing atmosphere. The system is characterised by its minimalist ring and line-shaped light modules, which offer a clear, elegant aesthetic and allow it to not only provide for uniform and pleasant basic lighting, but also to set architectural accents that underline the modern character of the rooms.
